Terms of Service

The rules of the road for using our website and booking work with us. Written so you can actually understand them — no thirty-page legalese.

1. Introduction

These terms govern your use of bookmyrepairs.co.uk and any bookings you make through the site. By using the website or booking a service with us, you confirm that you accept these terms and agree to be bound by them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

These terms sit alongside our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy, which together explain how we run the site.

2. About us

This site is operated by BookMyRepairs. Our trading details are:

  • Trading name: BookMyRepairs
  • Trading address: 2 Chequer Road, Doncaster, DN1 2AF
  • Email: bookmyrepairrecovery@gmail.com

3. Booking process

When you book a service through bookmyrepairs.co.uk, you're telling us you intend to bring your vehicle in at the slot you've chosen. The booking is a confirmation of intent — it isn't a legally binding contract until your vehicle is physically presented at the garage and accepted for work.

The price shown online is calculated for the vehicle category we identify from your registration plate via the DVLA database. If, when your vehicle arrives at the garage, the actual specification differs from the DVLA record (for example, an engine swap, a non-standard fuel type, or a vehicle that doesn't match the plate) we will tell you the corrected price before any work begins. You're free to walk away at that point with no charge.

We'll send a confirmation email when your booking is received. If you don't receive one within 30 minutes, please check your spam folder and contact us so we can resend it.

4. Pricing and payment

All prices shown on the site are the total amount payable — there is nothing added at the counter. The price you see when you book is the price you pay when you collect — provided the work matches the booking and the vehicle matches the DVLA record.

We do not take payment online and we do not collect or store card details on this website. Payment is taken at the garage when the work is complete. We accept:

  • All major debit and credit cards (no surcharges)
  • Cash
  • Bank transfer (cleared funds before vehicle release)

A receipt is issued on every job. We retain the right to keep your vehicle until full payment is received in cleared funds, in line with normal trade practice.

5. Cancellations and changes

Plans change and we don't want to penalise you for it. For all standard servicing, MOT, and parts replacement bookings, you can cancel or reschedule at any time, including on the morning of your booking, and there is no cancellation fee.

The deposit you pay to secure one of those bookings is non-refundable. It covers the slot we hold for you and the work we turn away to keep it open. If you go ahead with the booking the deposit comes off your final bill, so you only pay the balance at the garage. To move a booking you cancel it and book again, which means a new deposit for the new slot — so if you think the date may change, call us on the number below before you cancel and we'll do what we can.

For recovery bookings only, because we may have already dispatched a driver or turned other work away to keep the slot open, the rules are slightly different:

  • More than 2 hours before the recovery slot — free cancellation, no fee.
  • Less than 2 hours before — a £30 cancellation fee may apply at our discretion. We'll always try to be reasonable, especially if circumstances are outside your control.
  • If you paid a deposit to secure the recovery, it is refunded to your original payment method in full when you cancel, whenever you cancel. Refunds usually reach your account within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank. Any cancellation fee is handled separately and is never taken out of your deposit.

To cancel or change a booking, use the link in your confirmation email or call us directly. We'd much rather you tell us than not turn up.

6. Recovery service terms

Our vehicle recovery service is offered on a best-effort basis. Our pricing is calculated by distance between pickup and drop-off, with single or dual transport options. We aim to dispatch a driver to your chosen slot but cannot guarantee a precise arrival time — traffic, weather, and prior jobs all affect timing.

Our drivers are trained to assess every load before transit. They reserve the right to refuse a vehicle if they consider it unsafe to load (for example, if it cannot be secured properly, if access is blocked, or if there are hazardous fluids leaking). If a driver refuses a load on safety grounds, no recovery fee is charged but a small call-out fee may apply if we have already travelled to the pickup location.

Our liability for damage caused during recovery transit is limited to the value of our comprehensive transit insurance cover. We strongly recommend that you ensure your own vehicle insurance includes cover for transportation. We are not liable for pre-existing damage, mechanical failure, or anything that goes wrong as a result of conditions present before recovery began.

7. Work carried out

All work is carried out to current UK industry standard practice, using parts that meet or exceed original equipment specification. We follow IMI-aligned procedures and our MOT testing is performed under DVSA authorisation.

If we identify additional issues during the booked work — for example, a worn suspension component spotted during a brake replacement — we will stop, contact you, explain what we've found, and quote you for the additional work. We will not carry out any extra work or charge you anything beyond the booked job without your explicit prior approval.

All repairs are guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, covering both parts and labour. The guarantee covers defects in the parts supplied and faults arising from the work we performed. It does not cover damage caused by accident, misuse, neglect, or further wear and tear.

If you experience an issue with work we've done, contact us as soon as possible and we will inspect the vehicle free of charge. Where the fault is covered by our guarantee, we'll fix it at no further cost.

8. Liability

We carry £5 million of public liability insurance covering our garage and recovery operations. This means that, if something goes wrong as a direct result of work carried out by us, we have the means to put it right.

Subject to the rest of this section, our liability for any single booking is limited to the cost of the work paid for. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — for example, loss of earnings while a vehicle is off the road, costs of alternative transport, or missed appointments — except where required by law.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

9. Intellectual property

All content on bookmyrepairs.co.uk — including the brand name, logo, copy, images, layout, and code — is owned by BookMyRepairs or used under licence. You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial use, including printing or saving pages for reference.

Please don't copy, republish, scrape, or otherwise reproduce material from the site without our written permission. Automated scraping of pricing data, listings, or any other content is not permitted.

10. Governing law

These terms, and any contract formed under them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes that cannot be resolved by friendly discussion will be settled in the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer based elsewhere in the UK, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

11. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time — for example, if we add new services or our prices change. The latest version will always be available at bookmyrepairs.co.uk/terms with an updated "last updated" date. The terms in force at the time you make a booking are the terms that apply to that booking.

12. Contact

Questions or comments about these terms can be sent to bookmyrepairrecovery@gmail.com, or call us on 01302 810651 during opening hours.
